About the position:
Research Institute for Microwave & Millimeter-Wave Studies (RIMMS) invites applications from qualified candidates for a faculty appointment in digital, mixed-signal, analog, RF & mm-wave IC design at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The candidate will join a dynamic team to offer a structured and focused graduate program on IC design at NUST. The program aims to undertake capacity building in the IC design field at a fast pace leading to a fabless chip design ecosystem at the university.
Qualifications:
• The candidate must have a PhD in relevant field with a proven IC design experience including design, simulations, chip tape-outs and measurements.
• Relevant Graduate level course must have been completed.
• Candidate must provide evidence of teaching and research excellence.
• Post-doctoral or industrial experience in the same field will be considered a plus.
• Experience in R&D grant proposals, industrial consultancy and entrepreneurial experience will be considered a plus.
• Knowledge of semiconductor technologies including CMOS, SiGe, GaN etc.
• For Digital IC Design: Experience in Digital IC back-end (RTL to GDS) in Cadence tools, Packaging, PCB design and Verification.
• For Mixed-Signal IC Design: Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, validation tools, PCB design and testing.
• For Analog & RF IC Design: Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, 3D EM tools, PCB design, on-wafer / packaged IC measurements.

The candidate will join a dynamic team to enhance a structured and focused graduate program being offered at NUST – RIMMS.

• The candidate must have a PhD in relevant field with a proven research and development experience.
• Relevant graduate level course must have been completed.
• Candidate must provide evidence of teaching and research excellence.
• Post-doctoral or industrial experience in the same field will be considered a plus.
• Experience in R&D grant proposals, industrial consultancy and entrepreneurial experience will be considered a plus.
• Hands-on experience with relevant design tools such as Keysight Pathwave Suite, 3D EM tools (CST & HFSS), PCB Design tools (Altium, Allegro) and numerical Simulation tools.
• Experience with measurement equipment for characterizing microwave circuits for power, frequency, harmonic and load / source pull characteristics.
