Qualification / Experience
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA)/MA/MSc in relevant field from HEC recognized university.
- Minimum three (03) years experience of Hostel Management in any reputable university.
- Additional experience of handling of accounts will be preferred.
- Retired Armed Forces Personnel (Major /Squadron Leader/ Lieutenant Commander) with requisite experience are also eligible to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manager Hostel shall render his services and report OIC Cadets as per exiting working structure of Cadets Cell/ MCE. In addition to below given detailed responsibilities he will also perform any other, hostel/ students related duties assigned by OIC Cadet Cell or his staff/ Civil Engineering Wing/ MCE for the better administration of hostels management or NUST students affairs.
- Manager Hostel is responsible for both Jinnah and Sir Syed Hostel to look after discipline, messing/accommodation/ administration of the cadets (NSs/PCs/ASCs) at the hostels in close coordination with staff officer of Cadets Cell and will report to OIC Cadets for the purpose.
- Ensure timely collection of monthly dues/ messing charges from the students through the concerned staff.
- Arranging the reception and accommodation of the new course. Ensure issues of kit items and proper haircut. Educates the students on various aspects like personal hygiene/ care, personal conduct including turn out, financial matters, ethics and moral values etc.
- Manager Hostel shall be responsible for the accommodation of NSs/PCs/ASCs. Passes on the instructions/ orders to the students issued by the HQ and OIC Cadets Cell. Brief the students on the expected code of conduct.
- The Manager Hostel shall maintain discipline of NSs/PCs/ASCs, with the assistance of adjutant and mess staff.
- Manager Hostel will get the parade state at night Fall-in on daily basis at 2100 hours to 2200 hours. (As per serial 135, chapter 14 NUST Handbook).
- Manager Hostel will maintain leave and weekend register of all NSs/PCs/ASCs and get it signed from OIC Cadets in coordination with GSO-1/ GSO-2 (Academic)/ Coord and Dean Civil Engineering Wing.
- Manager Hostel will recommend leave and out pass of the NSs/PCs/ASCs and signs their leave passes as and when required.
- Checks and signs cadets report sick book and recommend genuine cases to Adjutant/ 2IC/ OIC Cadets.
- Check emergency leave cases and recommends genuine cases to OIC Cadets, GSO-1 (Academic) and Dean Civil Engineering Wing.
- Produces students involved in discipline cases before the Adjutant/ 2IC/ OIC Cadets and MCE NUST Discipline Committee after necessary investigation. Manager Hostel shall be responsible to ensure good health of students and arrange/ coordinate extra curricular activities of NSs/PCs/ASCs.
- Manager Hostels shall be the custodian of all property with the hostels including furniture, crockery, Kitchen, utensils and office establishment of NUST Hostels and its allied facilities.
- Carries out inspections of student’s rooms/ mess.
- Ensure security through security guards employed at hostels.
- Manager Hostel will perform his all duties as per NUST UG Student Hand Book 2021 as per structure/ organization of MCE for optimum efficiency of the administrative system, by working in close harmony with staff officers/ lower staff of OIC Cadets Cell.

- Last Education Certificate/Degree should be verified/attested by HEC.
- Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than two years’ service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Medically unfit.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations. Late / incomplete applications will be ignored. Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
